All therapists utilise a variety of soft tissue mobilisation, joint mobilisation and manipulation. Scott and Lisa are trained in muscle energy techniques for the pelvis.
Scott and Bess utilise dry needling in conjunction with other treatment modalities to assist with pain reduction and increased range of motion.
Sports Injuries – Treatment And Prevention
We have experience with cricket, football (touch, union, league, soccer and AFL), netball, golf, dancing, ballet, basketball, hockey, tennis, swimming and athletics to name a few. Scott provides specialised screening and coaching for the prevention of lower back stress fractures in young fast bowlers.
All therapists utilise heat-moulded technology to prescribe individual orthotics for conditions such as heel pain/spurs, knee pain and lower back complaints.
Individual exercise programs are prescribed to assist your recovery and prevent re-occurrence and/or injury. Nelson Bay Physiotherapy also offers a functional strength and stability program with Clinical Pilates.
SPORTS AND FASCIAL TAPING
All therapists have trained in conventional sports taping. Scott and Lisa have also trained in Functional Fascial Taping Techniques to assist with pain and rehabilitation.
ORTHOPAEDIC BRACING & SPLINTING
Utilising new technology we use EXOS braces for upper limb fractures offering significant advantages for you over waterproof fibreglass and plaster of paris options. We also provide walking boots for lower limb conditions including fractures and stress fractures.

FALLS PREVENTION AND WALKING AIDS
We offer falls prevention sessions and our therapists are trained to accurately prescribe and train the safe use of appropriate walking aids.

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) a cause of dizziness/vertigo can be treated with a manipulation technique and the prescription of exercises.
