Owners Scott and Lisa Ward lead a team of highly skilled professionals who have been mentored and trained to their most rigorous standards so that every patient receives the same outstanding quality of care.
Scott Ward
MMSP (Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapy), BAppSc (Physiotherapy), APAM BAppSc (Exercise & Sports Science), SMAScott is a Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and a Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with extensive experience in private practice, including Sydney Whiplash Centre, that specialised in the treatment of spinal pain.
Scott has extensive sporting experience and is also a qualified Exercise and Sports Scientist. He currently works with Netball NSW and in the past has been a physiotherapist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2018 Pan Pacific Masters Games, The Sydney Half Marathon, and for NSW Country at the Junior National Football Championships.
Scott has also been a physiotherapy provider and coach on the Cricket NSW High Performance Coaching Panel for some 13 years.
He has also volunteered his time to support cyclists in the Camp Quality 1000k’s 4 Kids annual ride.
He is a passionate sports ‘nut’ with a local link, with his father a founding member of Port Stephens Yacht Squadron at Soldiers Point.
Lisa Ward
BAppSc (Physiotherapy), APAM Level 3 Professional Pilates Instructor APMAThe mother of a ‘pigeon pair’ with experience in private practice, the Pilates Method in a clinical setting, spinal, orthopaedic, medical and neurological rehabilitation, falls prevention, casting and hydrotherapy. Lisa is a Professional Pilates Instructor, teaching the Pilates method today and also providing PrePointe Assessments and Dance rehabilitation within the clinic.
Lisa trained and taught the Pilates Method in a large Sydney physiotherapy centre that specialised in treating professional dance and ballet clients.
As a dancer, choreographer and teacher Lisa has a strong interest in dance and musical theatre that is continued today via her teaching and running of ‘Inspire Dance’ with a friend, teaching various forms of dance to children locally. Lisa has performed ballroom, tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and irish dance with highlights including Disneyland (USA), JAPAN and the Sydney Olympic Opening Ceremony.
Lisa is a Professional Pilates Instructor, teaching the Pilates method today and also providing PrePointe Assessments and Dance rehabilitation within the clinic.
Adam McKee
BAppSc (Physiotherapy), APAM BScAdam has extensive experience in Private Practice, having worked since graduation in Sydney, country Victoria and on the NSW Central Coast where he owned and operated his own physiotherapy and Pilates practice for 12 years. Now with 'McKee's farm' he's looking to carve out a career in Television.
As a physiotherapy ‘generalist’, Adam has developed a passion for understanding the multi-factorial nature of chronic pain, implementing treatments to those suffering and assisting them to a more fulfilling life.
Over his career Adam has volunteered his time as a physio for local sporting teams on the Central Coast and given manual handling advice for volunteers at Camp Breakaway, a respite camp for adults living with disability.
With Physiotherapy being a change of career, Adam also has a science degree in biochemistry and previously worked as an IVF scientist. He loves a good discussion about skepticism, the laws of logic and epistemology. Growing up in Terrigal on the Central Coast he is a life long surfer and water sports enthusiast and hopes to exploit the amazing waterways of the Nelson Bay region (when he's not farming!)

Rhys Bubb
BPhysio(Hons)Rhys is a dedicated new graduate physiotherapist with a keen interest in sports, orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Rhys is an avid powerlifter and achieved a career highlight by placing third in the Junior category at the World Powerlifting World Championships in 2024.
His training at Federation University in Victoria has equipped him with diverse skills across areas such as hydrotherapy, cardiorespiratory and neurological rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. Passionate about sports and athletic performance, Rhys is an avid powerlifter and achieved a career highlight by placing third in the Junior category at the World Powerlifting World Championships in 2024. Rhys brings his love for strength training and a commitment to patient-centered care to his physiotherapy practice, helping clients to reach their goals.
Gabrielle McMann
Group Exercise InstructorGabs McMann is an experienced Pilates, group exercise, hydrotherapy, and aqua aerobics instructor, as well as a personal trainer, whose introduction to Pilates began with our practice many years ago.
Gabs now teaches our Spinal Health Program.
Amazed by the power of specific stabilization and the importance of precise instruction, she went on to complete formal matwork training through a physiotherapy-led program, and now focuses on teaching correct technique to help clients exercise safely, sustainably, and effectively.
Katrina Doro
ReceptionistKatrina has spent most of her working life in the fashion industry. After a move from Victoria to Queensland in 2000, Medical Reception occupied most of her time. After many travelling adventures she recently chose to settle in beautiful Port Stephens.

Susan Spooner
ReceptionistSue has spent her life in customer-focused roles, and caring for others is what she loves most. After visiting Port Stephens to see her daughter, she fell in love with the slower pace, beautiful surroundings, and relaxed lifestyle of the bay. Now a proud grandmother, Sue enjoys spending her spare time with her granddaughter, discovering the many cafés Nelson Bay has to offer.
